Re-advertisement: Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Supply of services to refurbish the PE Manganese Terminal for Transnet SOC Ltd operating as Transnet Port Terminals, as a once off supply. Scope of work: During the scope finalization of the refurbishment the following were taking into consideration: • Installation of technological improvements; • Carry out structural repairs; • Implement large scale corrosion protection; • Renew the integrity of electrical components of the asset; • Refurbish components or systems that are normally only exposed to maintenance services; • Upgrade components that have become obsolete; and • Replace components where interchangeability with replacement parts is not possible without equipment outage. The scope of the refurbishment was categorized into three (3) engineering disciplines, namely: • Mechanical - includes components or systems such as the open gear systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and rotating and moving parts; • Structural - includes wear liners, supporting structures (if required) and areas of possible structural damage (cracking deformation wear). Additionally, includes maintenance detection; • Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) - includes panels and drives that is approaching the end of their useful life, or has become obsolete or, where newer technologies can be incorporated. Terminal Electrical Compliance may be required to be complete. The scope of work for the refurbishment can be summarized as follows and the works that the Principal Contractor is to perform involve: Site establishment: Provision, transportation, off-loading and placement of all temporary offices, equipment and all other infrastructure required for execution of the works. Timeous finalizing of all training, medicals, permits and other documentation required, in order to commence with the execution works. Execution of SOW activities: Execution of all SOW activities planned for the refurbishment. Management & resources: Site Supervision, SHEQ Management, Site labour to work 24/7 (during planned Maintenance windows) within labour laws Compliance with the Department of Labour (DoL) with an approved mandate for extended working hours (if required), PPE, security-requirements, site equipment, cranage, vehicles, general tools, jacking tools/trestles, scaffolding, lighting and others. Commissioning: After Pre, Cold, and Hot Commissioning, all works is handed over to the BOT in “Safe for Operation” mode. Project close out: Project close out to be formally documented to cover all aspects of safety, training, as-built/red-line drawings, user manuals and updated maintenance procedures. All close out documentation to be handed over to the TPT Project Manager in hard copy format, as well as in electronic format. Scope: Concrete Repair Proposal: a) Visually inspect and hammer test the entire concrete surface to identify and mark out defected concrete spalling; b) Cut a 10mm slot the defected concrete spalling and break out concrete to expose all corroded rebar, break 20-25mm behind corroded rebar; c) Where necessary replace rebar as a rule of thumb, replace rebar where 10% of cross section has been lost. Guidance must be given from structural engineering; d) Remove all corrosion from rebar mechanically by means of grit blasting; e) We propose two repair systems: Hand pack repair method using Sika MonoTop 1010 anti-corrosive coating and bonding agent and Sika MonoTop 412NFG repair mortar that can be hand applied and wet sprayed. Shutter and pour method using SikaTop Armatec; f) EpoCem anti-corrosive coating and bonding agent and Sikacrete 214 structural micro concrete; g) Cracks to sealed with Sikadur 31DW and Sikadur 52ZA low viscosity epoxy resin; h) Reseal expansion joints using Sika Primer 3N and Sikaflex PRO3i-cure; i) Apply Sika Ferrogard 903 Plus corrosion inhibitor in 2-3 coats depending porosity of the concrete surface at a total consumption of 0.5Lt/m²; j) Apply Sikalastic 152 polymer protective coating resistant against chlorides and carbonation ingress, the Sikalastic 152 must be applied at 2mm thick. Proposals are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of service providers for hydrological studies for the three clusters in the Welisizwe Rural Bridges Programme: • Cluster 1: KwaZulu Natal (17) and Eastern Cape (17); • Cluster 2: Free State (14) and North West (14); • Cluster 3: Limpopo (17) and Mpumalanga (17). The objective of the RFP is to source for a service provider who will provide technical engineering advise to the Welisizwe Bridge Programme. The service provider will conduct hydrological studies that will guide the bridge designers to provide best design scenario providing safe and cost-effective bridges for the programme. The design of gabion erosion protection works is undertaken by the Department of Defence whilst the maximum lengths of the modular bridge structures will be determined by a modular bridge supplier. The key requirements for the service provider are the following: i. Technical strength – registered hydrology professional engineers to approve the designs; ii. Professional Indemnity – the service provider must ensure that the professionally registered engineer is indemnified against liability for all work undertaken; iii. Good communication skills – the programme has stakeholders such as DPWI, NDOT, PICC TTT, SANDF and Provincial Departments of Roads and Transport that will need to be consulted. The service provider is required to ensure that services rendered will be carried out by resources having the requisite expertise in hydrological engineering, particular experience in hydrology of bridges, major drainage structures or dams is preferred. Prince Albert Municipality hereby invites formal written quotations for the conducting of a topographical survey in Leeu-Gamka. Extent of Survey: 1) In general, all detail which may have a bearing on the selection of the final design of the proposed water and sewer infrastructure and engineering requirements for its construction, shall be included in the survey. This will include existing levels, existing services and other physical features within the road reserves, public open spaces and servitudes. 2) Contours representing 200mm vertical intervals above Mean Sea Level (MSL) supplemented by spot heights where contours are not sufficient to portray ground shapes accurately. Sufficient heights shall be provided where this may affect the engineering design and to allow a reliable longitudinal section to be plotted. 3) Existing natural features such as rivers, streams, canals, watercourses, wetlands, etc with the direction of flow indicated. 4) Existing plantations within the proposed development area such as individual trees (with girth indicated), shrubs, etc. as well as the perimeter of any plantations bordering on the proposed development area. 5) Existing road infrastructure including streets, walkways, pathways, cycleways, guardrails, kerbing and channelling with type of surfacing and kerbing indicated. Levels to be taken include left edge, right edge and centre line of roads. 6) Existing storm water infrastructure such as bridges, structures, manholes, catchpits, inlets, outlets, channels and culverts/pipes.
