Informal tenders are hereby invited for the following: Supply & deliver bioaugmentation in 25kg; Quantity: 130; Unit: Each. Scope: This specification covers the supply and delivery of the bio-augmentation product. The product should be a make-up of bacterial, fungal, enzymes and/or nutrients for municipal wastewater treated in secondary treatment and sludge lagoons. The product once applied should act as a catalyst to natural biological process of wastewater treatment. Wastewater treatment processes to be treated includes inlet works sumps, activated sludge reactors, sludge lagoons and maturation ponds. Technical requirements: The product should accelerate the degradation of municipal and industrial wastewater, municipal wastewater sludge, FOG (fats, oils and grease), surfactants, vegetable and animal fats. It should also result in better sludge settling characteristics in clarifiers. It should not produce harmful by-products, excess sludge and adverse environmental effects to the aquatic life, natural flora and fauna of the receiving water resource. The product shall have proven success in at least five similar treatment projects to that required by NMBM. The product should meet standards as set out in “Bioaugmentation Technology for Wastewater Treatment in South Africa – WRC Report 429/1/95”. Packaging and delivery: The product shall be suitably packaged to ensure easy treatment and supplied as a concentrated product. Dilutions should be performed at point of treatment as per MSDS. The MSDS should also indicate the treated volume ratios for diluted product. The mass/volume of the product must also be clearly labelled on the packaging. The product must be suitable for applying in small doses without sub-dividing the packaging. The product should be safe to apply and easy to handle.
