Tanahu Hydropower Project
• design and construction of the Main Dam, a concrete gravity Dam with integrated spillway, with a maximum height above the foundation estimated to be approximately 140 m, length of crest approximately 215 m, incorporating galleries, elevator shaft. and openings for two water lowering outlets and two sediment flushing outlets, all foundation excavation and grouting works including a grout curtain with a vertical area in the order of 100 000 m2;
• design and construction of river diversion works in the valley of the Seti River during the construction of the Main Dam, the Downstream Auxiliary Dam and associated structures, including two concrete lined diversion tunnels (in the right abutment) each with a length of between 550 m and 630 m, upstream and downstream cofferdams with jet grouting works, dewatering and drainage works etc.;
• design and construction of plunge pool, downstream auxiliary Dam, Dam grouting galleries, reservoir stabilisation works etc.
The Government of Nepal has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) towards the cost of the Tanahu Hydropower Project. Part of the loan will be used for eligible payments under the contract called the design, construction and rectifying of any defects of the Works under the Package 1 (Headworks) of Tanahu Hydropower Project.
The deadline for the submission of bids was set for 6 July 2020. By the end of bid submission deadline, three bidders have submitted their bids. Technical bids of all three bidders were opened on 6 July 2020. Out of three bidders, the technical bids of two bidders were found substantially responsive to the requirements of the bidding documents. The price bids of two responsive bidders were opened on 30 October 2020. The letter of acceptance was issued to the lowest evaluated bidder on 25 January 2021.
