Expressions of interests are hereby invited for field testing of selective global certifications and buyers’ frameworks in three countries. The objective is to assist the client in conducting Field Testing in Vietnam; Pakistan; and South Africa; which are among the largest markets for the clients trade and SCF investment and advisory. A small sampling of certifications and buyers’ frameworks; selected by the client; will be field tested. Validation will focus on MRV (measurement-reporting-verification); audit protocol; quantitative climate outcomes; and development impact effectiveness (i.e.; jobs; MSMEs; export; access to finance). Field assessment will also consider ease of implementation; including financing needs; of such certifications and frameworks by lead-firm buyers; banks; suppliers; including MSMEs (i.e.; tier 2 and 3 suppliers) and smallholders. The exercise will be anchored on how the client can more effectively utilize robust certifications to boost impact for our clients and stakeholders on the ground as we expand our climate trade and SCF business with private sector partners. Scope of works: The SME Fashion Program is an Upstream advisory initiative led by the client aimed at accelerating leading SMEs in Africa"s fashion and lifestyle sector. The program seeks to identify; support; and equip 30 high-potential SMEs with tailored technical assistance to enhance their investment readiness and facilitate matchmaking with the client and partner financial institutions. The ultimate objective is to enable these SMEs to secure financing; scale operations; and access new markets to become global brands. The program will cover Africa but has prioritized Morocco; Nigeria; Senegal; South Africa; Egypt; Kenya; and Côte d’Ivoire - countries and companies with sales over 800k; substantial export capacity. The client is inviting qualified consulting firms to express their interest in supporting the following key activities: 1. Market Mapping and Identification: • Conduct a comprehensive mapping of Africa"s fashion and lifestyle to identify 75 high-potential SMEs with sales over USD 800K and strong growth and export prospects, • Prioritize SMEs and short list 30 SMEs demonstrating profitability; capacity to scale fast; export track records; and alignment with gender inclusion and youth employment objectives. 2. SME Needs Assessment: • Conduct a detailed assessment and business plan for the 30 SMEs selected by the client including their technical assistance needs to enhance investment readiness and market expansion capabilities, 3. Prepare a technical assistance action plan: • Design a technical assistance plan for the 30 SMEs to meet the client"s standards and financing eligibility.
