      4. Description of the procurement:

        The consulting service contract for the project is expired on 30 June 2023. Due to the adverse effects of covid-19 and Bangladesh-India Border issue at Quasba and Saldanadi area, works are still going. Hence, it is necessitated to continue work supervision. The consulting services till June 2023 were provided by Dohwa Engineering Co., Ltd., Korea in Joint Venture with Korea National Railway, Korea; Oriental Consultants Global Co. Ltd., Japan; Balaji Railroad System Limited, India; and Development Design Consultants Ltd. For economic efficiency reasons, Bangladesh Railway awarded through a negotiated procedure a services contract with the Dohwa JV for the period of 18 months (6 months for construction & 12 months for Defect Liability Period) starting from July 2023.
